Canva's new AI can draw almost anything, except a brand you haven't written down

Canva's new AI image generator, Craft, makes polished images easy for every business, so brand consistency now depends on written rules your AI reads first, held in an AI dashboard.

Canva's new AI image model, Craft, learned design from millions of templates, but Craft has never seen your brand.

What Canva launched

Canva, the Australian company behind the Canva design platform, released Craft on 23 October 2026. Canva Research, the company's in-house AI lab of more than 160 scientists and engineers, built Craft from scratch, according to SmartCompany, an Australian news site for small business owners.

Craft plans the layout of an image before drawing the image, a design Canva built for work where the layout and the words have to be right. Canva trained Craft on millions of templates made by human designers, TechRadar, a technology news site, reported. Canva is offering Craft to other businesses to build into their own software, and neither report says which Canva plans include Craft.

DesignArena is a site where people vote between AI-generated designs shown side by side.

Why polish no longer sets your business apart

As AI image generators improve, polished images become easy for every business, yours and your competitors' alike.

Craft does not know the two colours your clients recognise you by, the shape of your Instagram posts, or the props that never appear in your work. Without those rules, a stronger model hands you a more polished version of what your whole trade receives.

Four brand rules to write before your next prompt

EMME Influence builds AI dashboards for AI automation in founder-led businesses: organised pages your AI reads before every task. The free EMME Influence AI dashboard, Signature Architecture, sets four foundation codes, the fixed rules that make a brand recognisable. Here is a first version of each.

Why the rules belong in an AI dashboard

An AI dashboard sits at the centre of a content system, the written rules, examples and steps every post you publish runs through. A refined written instruction is the asset, and the image model is the replaceable part. Kept in a chat window, your rules vanish when the conversation closes.

Kept in an AI dashboard, the rules sit beside an example post you were happy with, and every image product you use reads the same page, pasted in or connected. Correct a rule once, and every image after the correction follows the new rule.

Test your brand on your own feed

Lay your last nine posts side by side and cover the logo. Could a stranger name your business? If not, write the four rules first. If so, a stronger model simply makes more of what already works, faster.
